Running Forever Running Club was started in November 2004 by Simon Reach, then owner of Taunton's Running Forever running shop.The initial aim was to take a group of novice runners and train them to run and complete the Taunton Half Marathon the following April. The session was a huge success and the loose collection of runners continued to meet after the half and eventually a decision was made to formalise the club - and so Running Forever Running Club was born!

The club meets twice a week on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings with a formalised structure of groups to cater for different abilities. The emphasis has always been on a friendly running club and while we have had numerous successes at race level our original aim is still the most important. To provide a safe and supportive structure for new and experienced runners. With this in mind our club motto is NOLGB - No One Gets Left Behind! In other words no matter what your ability level, whether you are a budding Paul Radcliffe, or an absolute beginner, we will look after you. The club policy is based around looping, where the front runners will loop back to those runners at the back of the group, thus ensuring that No One Gets Left Behind!

The Running Forever Running Club is affiliated to UK athletics. New runners and guests from other clubs are welcome to run with us. Just make yourself known to one of the organisers on the night. If you haven't yet run with the club, please take a look at our Club Times to see when we train, and feel free to turn up to any session. Ask for one of the running councilors, and you will be made to feel very welcome. If you haven't run before, we run beginers courses three times a year. Please Contact Us, and we will be pleased advise you.

Our next training program will start shortly on 23rd July. We are running two groups this year. One is aimed at runners who have previously run with the club but who have not run for a while, plus any other runner who has already started running. The other group is for absolute beginners and aims to go from zero running experience to being able to run and finish the 10k in September. For more details click here.

Skittles Match - more...

There will be a skittles match on 10th July at 7.30 for 8.0pm at the King's Arms. Tickets are only available in advance - there will be no admission on the night (so we can organise the food). New Forest Marathon - more...

The club races this year are the New Forest Marathon and Half Marathon which will take place on Sunday 21st September. We have a training group running at the moment for the marathon. See Mike at the Wednesday training sessions or email him from here for more details.

10k Training - more...
This year's 10k training program starts on 23rd July and runs for 10 weeks. There will be two groups. One for runners who can run at least two miles and another for absolute beginner runners. Both groups will take runners on a structured program to enable members to run and complete the Taunton 10k on 28th September. For more details on the training program click here.
